FAQ

Nope! While I received specific training in working with these communities, I welcome anyone who wants to learn more about themselves and bring more intentionality to how they relate—to partners, friends, themselves, their greater community, etc.
-
Not currently. I would love to be able to offer that, however, I don’t currently have sufficient training to effectively support more than one person at a time. I will update my services if/when that changes.
-
Yes. This is a low-stakes, reflective space where you can explore who you are without the pressure to pick a specific label.
Note: I cannot provide a diagnosis or letters for gender affirming surgeries.
-
There’s a bit of overlap so it’s difficult to draw a hard line between the two. However, the biggest differences come down to training and scope.
Therapy: Therapists are trained and licensed to work with folks experiencing significant emotional distress or mental health conditions. They can go deep into your history to help you uncover, examine, and understand how your past shapes who you are today. They can also provide a diagnosis, and are often covered by health insurance.
Coaching: With coaching, you will likely have deep, transformational insights about how your past is showing up—there’s no way for us to talk about your present moment without touching your history. We can use those insights in our work together, but the deep-dive into the past isn’t the focus of our time.
Instead, we’ll be more oriented to what’s happening right now, using these insights to disrupt current patterns, build skills, inform your choices and boundaries, and make lasting shifts going forward.
Note: Coaching does not involve diagnosing, and my services are not covered by health insurance.

No. I’m not currently a certified trauma professional. I highly recommend connecting with a therapist or other trained professional for that work.
We can, however, work with the impact it has on you in your day to day. We’ll focus on building your awareness around your triggers and creating habits, boundaries, agreements, and coping strategies that fit your needs.
-
Definitely! Some of my clients do both and find it incredibly beneficial to have coaching as a dedicated space to process the day-to-day challenges that are unique to non-traditional, non-normative ways of being. They like not having to explain or justify themselves (especially if their therapist isn’t as matched in those identities). They also just like being able to compartmentalize their processing.
It’s possible that we’ll uncover things you might want to explore more deeply in therapy. Or, we can use our time together to turn your therapeutic insights into actionable steps. The extra support, accountability, and reflections from another external source (me!) can be super useful for building and maintaining momentum toward your mental-emotional health and wellness goals.
-
It’s like a vibe check. I’ll call you, and you’ll tell me more about your current situation and what you want to change.
I’ll also answer your questions and explain how my coaching process can specifically support your goals.
By the end, we’ll talk more about the financial investment and possible timeline. If things feels like a good match, we’ll process payment and make it official. You’ll leave the call with a new coach and your first session on the calendar.
-
It really depends. A good entry point is 12 weekly sessions (roughly 3 months), but I recommend aiming for or banking on at least 24 weekly sessions (roughly 6 months) because change takes time.
This is my default structure, which you’ll see on the Coaching page, under “ways to work with me”. However, we can talk about what makes the most sense for you right now. Let’s get on a call.
-
We meet virtually, via Zoom or Meet.
If you’d prefer to have good ol’ fashioned phone calls, let’s talk about it. Phone calls potentially allow for flexible locations or talking while moving about, which sounds lovely. However, not being able to see you makes it a bit trickier for attuning to you in the moment (because I lose visual cues).

That info lives on the Coaching page. If you have questions or concerns, please use the contact form below to let me know. Or, let’s talk about it on a Connection Call.
-
Yes, I use a managed sliding scale (based on the Green Bottle Method). You can read more about my pricing on the Coaching page.
